Globally there are 6383 species in 693 genera and 38 families of odonates are known so far (Schorr and Paulson, 2020). There are 493 species in 154 genera and 18 families exist in India (Subramanian and Babu, 2020). 196 species in 14 families and 83 genera are known from the Western Ghats (Subramanian et al., 2018). Of this, 178 species are reported from Kerala.
